Original Civ2 MP patch Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

I've got Civ2 multiplayer (not the gold version) but can't seem to find a patch that will upgrade it to v1.3 properly. The one for the gold version dosen't work, and the other one on the microprose website, though allowing you to play multiplyer, causes several errors to occur in the single player game, not the least of which is the inability to save your game any ideas where i can find a patch that works ?

Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

I also have a non gold version. I installed the gold version 1.3 patch, and it works. However, it is the german language version. Have you tried out a complete deinstallation and reinstallation of the game? Maybe that works better.
