RICHMOND - September 18, 1862 - After luring Yankee troops across Antietam
Creek at "Burnsides Birdge" and along the Boonsborogh Turnpike, General A.P.
Hill's Division of the Army of Northern Virgina's First Corps smashed into
the advancing Federal's flank just south of Sharpsburg, Maryland. Commanding
General Robert E. Lee was conferring with his staff, who had been preparing
to retire the day on the success of bloody standoffs against superior numbers
at "Bloody Lane" and Dunker Church, when Hill's Virginians routed Burnside,
scattering his divisions into the and back across the water. Lee was
congratulating his staff officers for a fine effort when, "Up Came Hill!" to
decisely win the day.
Following on this Summer's success at Second Manassas, General Lee march the
Army of Northern Virginia into Maryland, capturing the Federal garrison at
Harpers Ferry along the way.Before the battle General George B. McClellan
intercepted a dispatch carried Lee's plans, and boasted to his staff, "...if
I cannot whip Bobby Lee, I will be willing to go home. If I don't crush Lee
now, you may call me whatever you please." After the defeat at Sharpsburg
"Little Mac" is the only way anyone refers to McClellan.
With Confederate troops poised to seize the Yankee Capital, The United States

Former Berlin- Chancellor Otto von Bismarck is reported to have set fire to
the Reichstag and has ordered his troops to set fire to all of Berlin. It is
reported to have been playing the didjeridoo at the moment when he was
forced out of the Chancellory in Wilhelmstrasse by the flames.
German Kaiser Escapes to New Orleans!
New Orleans- Avioding British naval blockades to German ships in the North
Sea, the Kaiser's private yacht holding the Kaiser and his family have
escaped from Berlin, where government has been bestowed upon the Chancellor,

Well, it seems like Talon got the majority vote. I'll let something like this happen once. By now all of you know that I reply to your moves. I tend to do so as soon as I get them. So, if you DON'T see a reply from me within 24 hours from sending in moves, builds, disbands, retreats, your grandmother's soul, etc. SEND THEM AGAIN. I will get them and reply. Do not assume your stuff made it through otherwise. Something like this happens again, you NMR, your retreating units go OTB, or you NBR. There will be no more votes like this.
So, when the slightly modified map gets posted, EMAIL me your retreats & your builds. This way I can reply to you, and I don't have to go hunting them down on this forum. Any builds, disbands, retreats, or orders posted here will be considered invalid. All retreats and builds sent to me prior to this vote are considered invalid. I lost track of everything when this occured.
