Turn 105 - 490 BC Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

Post orders.

Check the thread about switching to Republic.

Set Funky Town to build a settler after completing the Colossus.
Change Paradise to build a granary instead of a courthouse.

We need to complete a trade agreement with MAST for Republic.

490 BC turn played

MAST did not send us Republic as they indicated they would.
Did they forget or decide to wait until we have a deal in place?

Funky Town completes Colosus. Set to build settler.

Our workers in the north completed the road on incense hill. We now have two luxuries.
Greenjeans started a road.
Comet moved S, W. Sees barb camp with warrior and another warrior.
Gary moved N.
Dasher moved W.
Las Vegas builds hoplite. Named Sam.
Sam and the settler moved NE, E, E.
John Henry moved NW, N and started to irrigate.
Zeus moved S.
Ralph moved fortified to heal.
Nova moved SW, SW.

Changed Paradise to granary.

Question: Friendship City could also change to granary, or do we want to keep building a temple.
If we put in the cities we plan our border will pretty much be defined by them.

The game allows us to put horses on the table for MAST. We have only one source.
That would mean we have no horses for ourselves. That may be OK after we complete
the horsemen in Sunshinia. I don’t think we need more horses for a while and we can hook
up the other source by then.

Treasury at 334 gold -6 gpt. Monotheism in 7 turns.

We are pushing back on the histograph. I believe this is the result of connecting the luxuries.

I captured the demographics. I will upload them tonight with a comparison of the last time I captured it.

I recommend that we send our next three settlers to the following spots:

1) North-eastern hill site that borders the lake and floodplains.

2) 2-2-1 from Funky Town, on the river, with horses.

3) Site that is west of site #1 ... just above the iron along the jungle river.

I would rather do the plains site east of Las Vegas first. Our settler is almost there and we have workers in the area. That city can get some production in before we start our anarchy period. One of those tiles will be irrigated shortly and we can connect the city by road quickly. The settler Suntanland is building will come out just before we go into anarchy. It can travel on the road to the new city and spend much of the anarchy period walking to the hill/floodplains site. One of the workers can be working on a road to that site.

The settler from Funky Town could also head east to do the jungle site to get us that iron. It would also be spending the anarchy period walking so again there would be no lost city production during the anarchy.

I would wait for the horses SW of Funky town. Shortly after Republic we could send a settler there. By then we could be ready to connect the horses by road. It doesn't do us much good to put a city there now if it will be a bit before our workers can connect the horses.

Demographics comparison with 950 BC:

Approval up from 52%/5th to 80%/1st. I am surprised. Last I looked Tab had three luxuries compared to our two. They must have more unhappy citizens (larger cities?).
Population down from 5th to 6th.
GNP down from 4th to 5th.
Mfg Goods up from 6th to 5th.
Land area up from 7th to 6th.
    Literay unchanged at 4th.
    Disease from 9%/5th to 8%/5th.
    Pollution remained at 1st.
Life expectancy down from 29yrs/2nd to 26yrs/3rd.
    Family size unchanged at 6th.
Military Service up from 7yrs/5th to 8yrs/3rd.
Annual Income up from 1pc/5th to 4pc/2nd.
Productivity up from 73/5th to 103/4th.

Except for our population we are not doing too bad overall.
