Yes, thank you, I did that. Disc 2 is in the CD ROM drive.

SO WHY THE @#$%! DO I KEEP GETTING THAT MESSAGE?!

It won't let me start the game!

Any ideas?

May be the disk in your drive is not the original one ....

It's the disc that came in the box, labeled "Disc 2." What other disk could they mean?

I dont understand your problem, either. Disk 1 (Green) should install the game and you use Disk 2 to start it up! Though the booklet I have seems (at the bottom of page 13) to suggest you should have CD Disk1 in the drive in order to play which seems to me to be plain wrong! It is Disk 2 (Red) which boots the game (for me at least)!

If you havent solved your problem already, I recommend un-installing, then reinstalling with CD Disk 1 (Green) and then inserting CD Disk 2 (Red) to start the game (hopefully!).

I installed with Disk 1, and am trying to play with Disk 2. But neither disk will let me into the game. I didn't get a manual with mine, funny enough. All that came in the box were the disks and insert for installation that referred to the game as "Monopoly." And this is from EB games, mind you.

Tech support is also baffled by the problem, it seems, as they were unable to help me. The problem is caused by the patch, as I can run the game unpatched. Something about the patch creates copy protection problem.

Tech support e-mailed me an "alternate executable," but that didn't even work. I finally had the tech guy acknowledge that I should just get a no-cd crack until there was "maybe" an official fix.

Humph. Not a good start to my MOO3 experience.

are you sure you have the 1.25 patch?


What happens when you just enter cd2 into the computer? Does something show up?

You should have a menu with things like: play game, read text, go to the official page etc...

Daz: It was $10, so I figured, why not? No big loss.

Angiulle2: Yes, I had the 1.25 patch--read above, that's precisely what is causing the problem. The autorun gives the same problem. The menu comes up, but when I press "Play Game," I get the message asking me to insert Disc 2.

This has been a problem that people have complained about since release - the over zealous copy protection they used causes problems with certain CD drives. Aside from it sometimes not being detected properly, the CD would also be over-worked while in use. You have to download the crack to play it.

Coincedentally, MoO3 was the last game I actually bought a legit copy of. This kind of **** pisses me off to no end.

There are mainly russian sites that have it. You will most likely need winrar rather than winzip to unpack it as well...
