Ok then as it's no lurking

Question 1: Are you happy with how things have gone for Apolyton in the game?

Yes. I'd say we are leagues ahead of everyone else in terms of actual performance in this game. While I think we own alot of that to the PTWDG1 I think there has also been a tremendous amount of excellence shown in all departments.
I find it very interesting to watch how teams play in the PTWDG2 and MZODG (especially in terms of diplomacy) when compared to how the teams played in the PTWDG1 as we are simply so much better. Each individual and team is so much more skillful and thoughtful about things now compared to when the PTWDG1 started I don't mean knowledge about civ as a game I'm talking about facets of the multiplayer game. I shudder to think what would have happened if we had played this game the way all teams started playing the PTWDG1. We probably would have got into a war with CDG pretty quickly.

Once again the performance has been astounding, sometimes I get filled with pride in this team and then a desire to be a bigger part of the team.

Question 2: Are you happy with how things are going for Apolyton the team?

I think it could be alot worse but then again I think things could be going alot better, like I've said before sometimes I think there's alot of effort/post which aren't very constructive and don't really do anything for the team.
Also sometimes I get the impression that the team is far too complacent about the game. It is there to be won but we still have to make it happen.

Also I'm starting to think CGN may hold out longer than I originally thought which would put us in a far better position.

Question 3: If there were one thing you would have different for Apolyton in the game, what would it be?

I'd like to have maintained a better level of dignity in the public forum. We all (note the use of we) know better than to post opinions or things that may be interpreted badly by other teams.

Question 4: If you could change one thing about the team, what would it be?

I'd change the team structure as I don't think the system of 3 consuls and 3 minister then deputies etc is that productive. If I was to design a system to govern there would only be one guy at the top whos main duties would be to maintain order and make sure things were working smoothly and productively, focusing on how the team is performing rather than any game issues whatsoever. Then the MoW, FaM and DM doing the same thing pretty much along with deputies, then a few people with no designated position whose responsibility would just be playing the save.

I mainly think the 3 equal consul system is a bit unbalanced especially with none of them having any specific role other than save player/general leader guy. The consuls are the ones who put the most time in but w/o a specific role it's quite misdirected.

IMO by far the most important role in the team is someone who makes things run smoothly and gets everyone doing what they are supposed to. The FaM role is extremely important but I think having someone to gather and focus team effort is far more essential as excellence in all areas is easliy achievable if the time and direction is there.

Anway that's what I think, appologies if I wandered off a bit on the last question I think the system we have ATM is cool I'm just quite opinionated in terms of group psychology.

Put an end to popups!

Greetings. My first day here in awhile.

Question 1: Are you happy with how things have gone for Apolyton in the game?

As has been said umpteen times before - a definite yes given the start. The interplay - and the healthy tension between expansion, domestic growth, research, amd the military has been very well handled.

Question 2: Are you happy with how things are going for Apolyton the team?

A definite no. I concur with a lot of what Deep-O said earlier. I am on three other demo teams, albeit small ones. But Vox has been around longer than the ISDG, and had its emotional highs and lows, and an no time did it even approach the kind of stuff seen in this forum. But, there are a lot of folks in this forum, which raises the number of relationship permutations exponentially, so maybe it was inevitable. The diversity of opinion on game tactics and strategy is wonderful, and un underlying strength of the team. It is just too bad that the diversity of opinion could not be discussed in a more civilized () manner. I acknowldge that in most cases it has been, but there have been times.

Also, I was heavily involved at the start getting the game set up and organized, and was very entused at the start. My interest waned, and despite a couple of self-commitments to get more involved, I just haven't gotten up sufficient interest to do so. Not sure why this is - as my team mates on Vox and Monkey will tell you that I am very engaged in both those games - (and look at where Vox is.. Go figure.). I guess some of it does have to do with the atmosphere in this forum at times.

Hmm - need to crack a beer and think about this ....

Question 3: If there were one thing you would have different for Apolyton in the game, what would it be?

No Lucky. That is the one thing that really soured me on this game. We know what he did - just not the how. I am sure he is using technical means to screw with the game - as reloading just wouldn't cut it, but regardless of the means, his actions have seriously damaged not just this game - but the entire civ gaming community.

Question 4: If you could change one thing about the team, what would it be?

hmmm -

10. No more "paw" surveys by nye. :
9. Aidun's paper sooner.
8. A barracks thread where we could make fun of each others namesake in the game - as in Trips Guard XXVII.
7. More civilized dialogue.
6. Simpler turn reports and summaries - all in one thread.
5. A Lucky Limerick contest.
4. More group hugs.
3. More women.
2. More beer.

And the number one thing I would change on this team:

1. MZ to finish the card deck.

Only on the condition that you change my picture to my current avatar - and make note that Beta the warrior was the first unit to spill blood for the greater glory of Apolyton.

(ok - so it was against Barbs. And yes - they were small. But they knew kung-fu.)

I'd think you'd prefer to be remembered for what you are... the team grandmother.
