4 voted in favour of 'random' tribes btw.
Were there even viking tribes? I don't think so, not really. Mostly you had some local hot-shot who claimed royalty (Småkonge, or Little King if you like), this position usually passed on in his family, or were claimed by someone else who had the manpower to support his claim.
You have 'Ynglingene' - some of the first kings in scandinavia came from them. They claimed to be ancestors of Odin, King of gods.
You also had 'Birkebeinerne' and 'Baglerne', which were more like political parties. They were on opposite sides in many civil wars in norway.
And the 'Ladejarlene' or Earls of Lade, a powerful family in norway.
Apart form that, you had several small 'kingdoms' which still exists as counties or districts, 'Agder', 'Vestfold', 'Telemark/Bratsberg', 'Viken', 'Nidaros', 'Ringerike' and more.
My viking knowledge is a bit rusty, so this list mostly includes norwegian names/places.
