Settlers as of 470 BC Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

We have two settlers, one in the west and one in the south. The western one should, IMO, head to Site E in the following image (note that the barbs are gone, and Site D is settled already):

However, it could also keep going further and settle the western chokepoint (Site G). Or it could get ready to go somewhere completely different (no, I don't mean the other continent ).

The other eastern settler is heading to found a city somewhere southeast of Kung Pao, to prevent LL from doing so and thereby cutting in to Kung Pao's temple-expanded borders. Here's a shot of the area:

Where should we settle the city for maximum prevention against a LL combat settler?

I would head for site E with the western settler.

For the eastern settler, maximum prevention against a combat settler means the plains tile NE of Soux Chef. It takes up six more tiles and means the only possible combat settler can be NE-NE of the city...which sends them onto a plains tile if they try to bypass the city. If we tried the plains tile E of Papa John's then they could do a combat settler where Soux Chef is and have forest cover as well as better access to Kung Pao.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

We definately need to secure the open space next to LL. I'm leaning towards the spot NE of Soux Chef. Seals off the border, and if we rush a temple there, we could potentially stave off their cultural expansion, and perhaps even swipe their horsie

Tired of ads?

So... one for UnO's blocking site east of Hot & Sour, two for NE of Soux Chef (assuming Rhoth supports that over the former).

I vote for NE of SC as well. I think preventing the use of a combat settler is most important.

BTW, I don't think we could swipe their horsie if we settled NE of SC. We'd have to settle right on the border beside Gisele and then win the resulting race for culture.
