well, I voted Trip (despite an Evil Dead-type urging by my possessed hand to vote Banana). A Hungry Man™ must support his own after all

That said, Trip has contributed tremendously to this team and has been an excellent consul. Sure, his ego can get in the way at times but I think his qualities definitely make up for his shortcomings

though not by much....

Technically, we cannot accept vote changes. Since all polls are confidential, nobody would know who you voted for. You could have voted for Trip earlier. If we allow your changes, you could have given Trip 2 votes.

rush is correct. This said, the very meaning of this vote is in question, but we'll handle that issue when the election is over.

I don't remeber the Banana being nominated.

Well as we've discussed on numerous occasions, Banana = Abstain, and regarding poll choices, abstain doesn't count at all one way or another towards a poll/election.

Agreed with WB. Those who chose Banana are choosing to abstain from voting.

This isn't a confirmation poll nor a choice between two options. If only Trip voted for himself and everyone else voted "banana" he'd still win the election.

DISagree with everyone who says that a Banana vote is in effect a refrain from voting. Why bother having the banana vote at all if we may as well ignore it and look at the other options? I think it's realistic to say that at least a sizeable number of those banana votes are there because some voters are unhappy with choosing Trip, therefore they choose the only alternative given to them. Otherwise the whole poll has only one option taken notice of and it is meaningless.

Back to 17 all. I have no wish to see the annoyances involved with having to invent some repoll for this. Just vote for Trip or find an alternative.

There will be no need for a runoff election. However, there is need to clarify the system for the future. I'm planning to post something about that tonight.
