I'm not up with all the new brews, but I can name you a few breweries I like. Monteiths, Mac, ....even Speights have some good ones. What area of NZ do you live in?

I prefer weed as well any day.
But I did recently buy a can of Beamish (Ireland) and Carib (somewhere in the Caribbean) from the import section at the state run (aka legal monopoly) liquor store. Both tased like ass... anyone ever tried them?

Well here there's Carlsberg that's made locally under liscense. Its the worst stuff I've ever had this side of Bud Lite.

Probably the same as the Korean-made Carlsberg then.

I'd like too but I don't know of any home-brew supply stores here
I really miss IPA

Will have to take a look for it next time I'm home.

That it is. Its the only beer with any real flavor that I can get my GF to drink (besides Guiness, but then Guiness is universal)

To drink with curries or to put in curries? I make a pretty good beer stew but have never heard of beer curries...

Sure.
$ = 1,168 won
Euro = 1,454 won
At a bar local crap lager is usually 4,000/bottle or 2,500 for a half liter of draft (with 3 liter pitchers for as little as 10,000 in some places)
Bud's usually 4,000 too with other beers ranging up from that. Sam Adams I've seen as low as 5,000 but is usually 5,500 or 6,000. Corona is usually 6,000 or 7,000 in evil over-priced clubs, but I've seen it as low as 5,000.
Guiness is tragically overpriced. I've never seen it lower than 8,000 and I've seen it for as much as 12,000 for a bottle.
I don't buy much beer at stores since its usually only local **** and Bud (although the new Hite Prime is surprisingly drinkable) so I don't have a good sense of the price...
quote: Yeah, cold Bud is tolerable, but Bud Ice? Nothing can save that bottle of crap! |
And you didn't even metion the horror that is Bud Lite. My least favorite beer has to be Rolling Rock (Beast etc. aren't even worth mentioning), nasty stuff...
quote: Often because they are chemical beers |
What does that mean exactly? I'm curious.

Beautiful color.
*drools*
And just be happy that you all are spared the horror that is Korean "Stout." Its really a Lager its just black
