I would just like to see what would happen. Could be fun

Obviously it would still be possible for an administrator to intervene if someone was doing something damaging to the site.

we actually do have moderation free days
there are actually some days(of the year!) that ming doesnt have to do a thing

Hey Dan, I think you've hit on something - declare a moderation free day for April 1, let it run for say 12 hours and then ban everyone who breaks the rules in that time

Thing is, people would be testing the boundries for a couple hours.. noone would know what to do since we've been in the iron grip of moderation for such a long time... But for AH's idea, don't say 12 hours, make it an unspecified time

This wasn't such as safe proposal... Perhaps you gave the moderators a good idea:

1. They'll announce April 1st will not be moderated, and then they do, and everyone who's posted crap will be banned... And Ming can finally have a vacation, with all potential spammers out.
2. They don't moderate, but only say it the next day.

Either way, you won't benefit from it. , Oh wait, I'm a poster myself ...

...But if everyone would broke the rules, they coundn't ban everyone. because then the forums wouldn't have any users....
