	Tundra Tribes Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

I got this idea because I misunderstood one of Paddy's PBEMs.
Four players on a small map composed almost entirely of tundra!

We'll need someone to make a map for us. Make it as you please but please make at least 90% of the land tiles tundra. You can add some hills and snow-capped mountains. There should be pine forest and lots of game. Other resources and luxuries are up to the map maker. Be creative!

Players and play order:
1. Paddy the Scot - Iroquois
2. Masuro - Maya
3. LzPrst - Dutch
4. j26 - Ottomans

thats the problem, who wants to do a map they cant play? paddy, you probably know a lot of folks around here, could u ask around? but on the other hand whats to stop a player from sneak peaking? wouldnt it be better just to make a map with cold terrain.

I want to make this terrain very challenging so I want mostly tundra and some trees. A cold setting on the map generator won't do that. I'm looking for Canadian Artic territory.

I'm fine with the cities being small but perhaps you're right about accelerated production; perhaps we should use it to make the game flow.

As for the map, I suppose I could make it and show it to everyone before we begin.

If we can't get another player soon would you like to use some AI players?

Ok, Masuro, you make the map. try to make it a little habitable I cant stand cold weather and snow in real life, I'll feel so sorry for my people that I'll start a nuke war just to get some global warming

Here's the map. It's tough, I think, but there are lots of resources like game and fish. I put in enough strategic resources for everyone but they are not always scattered evenly. I hope this will encourage trade but most likely it'll encourage destruction of one's neighbours. Still, that's what neighbours are for, right?
Starting locations are decided by the computer. There are lots of barbarian camps so watch out at the beginning of the game.
Once you've had a chance to look at the map I'll start the game.

Hmm . . . . how do I upload a .biq file?

dont think you can. but it works if you .zip it.
just hit Post reply, go to the bottom and hit Attach file.

I've made a couple of changes in the game. You start with a settler and a warrior because of all the barbarian camps. Pine forests are worth 2 food because otherwise cities wouldn't grow past size two. Also, I placed starting positions because sometimes the game started on a small tundra island of two or three squares. Yikes!

btw, I looked at your map and I think this will be fun
though I'll be freezing on behalf of all my poor subjects...

Okay, I see the problem with the starting locations. For some reason there was a copy of the file in Scenarios with no starting locations and a copy of the file in Conquests with starting locations. I'll send it to you again.
