the change has been made. there are now two buttons
"Go" opens the page in the same window
"Go(New)" opens it in a new window

Ummm- No. Not good. The message area is broken into two rows, and the newsbox takes up 2/3 of the width of the screen. Make it smaller. You have to cater for 800x600 users as well, you know.

There are buttons "go" and "go(new)" what will happen when the "go(new)" button is no longer new? will you just leave the new word in the box, or will you take it away. so there will be "go" and a "go" button... not a good idea.. or will the older go button be called "go(old)"? not a very good name...
so why don't you change the "go(new)" buttons name to for example "go(new window)"
more clear eh?

have you noticed that the americans nearly never complain here.... the biggest complainers are the scandinavians(and fennoscandians).

Changing the text to "Go (New Window)" would make the newsbox take up the whole row, leaving no space for announcements. Not good.
(Why, Chtol, have you seen any other swedes complain? I think it's finno-ugric myself.)

Btw, the length depends from the length of the longest news title. sometimes it is longer, sometimes shorter...

didnt understand the "what will happen when the "go(new)" button is no longer new?" part, but "Go(New)" stands for "Go(Opens in New Window)". Anything else than that would mean more trouble for 800x600 users

Hugo, I'm guessing that you use IE.
On Netscape and 800x600 it looks ok. But IE ignores my font size=1 code and put the menu in size=2
Anyway, I've edited the extra long news title and it should be fine

dont worry CapTVK, I've become used to the fact that no matter what we do, someone will have a problem it, someone else will love it, and someone will say it was unneccessary
btw, on 640x480. most of the time, if you're carefull, you can make a page look ok on 640. but there are times that you just have to get used with the idea that it wont look ok...
