Scene 12 : The 7th Morning

It was a fine Sunday morning in Apolytown. The sun was shining, the rainclouds had gone away, and noone had been killed for at least 24 hours. Perhaps the nightmare was over.

But then Zopperoni woke the Duke up with the news.
"Good morning sir. There were no disturbances in the night, you'll be pleased to hear."
"No shootings?"
"No shootings, sir"
"No burning houses?"
"No sir."

The Duke was pretty happy to hear this. He go out of bed, looked at the weather and decided to go for a ride. He hurried off to the stables to get his horse.

He was not the only one with this idea, in fact the whole village was on the way to the stables already, most arriving at the same time as the Duke.

"Drogue! Drogue! Where are you boy?" shouted the Duke "Where's my horse?"

There was no reply.

With the greatest care, he opened the stable door. Drogue was hanging upside down from the ceiling, with the reins of Duke's horse around his neck. As the stable door opened it was clear that Drogue had been strangled. The bruises on his body were probably caused by the bridle lying on the floor underneath him.

"He's dead" confirmed Doc. "Strangled and beaten"

"Oh crap," said Duke.

It is now an extra long day and the villagers can consider voting

Ok, the first mafia is still out there beating and strangling.

Just to add some mix to it, Tuberski could have a reason to be at the stables, and he may be a golfer, and he just didn't trust what the alter boy heard....plus trying to take out Alva twice....sounds good to me
