Hi, I'm fairly new to Civ3. I've come from an EU2 and Imperialism 2 background. In those games, I've always enjoyed playing as historically as I could. That takes a fair bit of imagination in the case of Imperialism 2, but it's worth it.
In the the case of Civ3, what is the best way to play historically? What mods should I use? At the moment, I'm on PTW plus Double Your Pleasure, which seems to do a reasonable job, but is there anything I'm missing? Is Conquests a no-brainer here? Should I be getting it? Any other mods or maps or scenariois?

yea, i would say you should go for conquests.
the scenarios start off very close to historical reality.
its a matter of finding the right difficulty level and playing style and strategy to mirror the events in RL.
but thats just my opinion, and it aint even worth 2 cents

Get conquests, the scenarios should be what your looking for. Maybe. Conquests in my opinion is vastly superior to vanilla civ3.
