I was reading the About Aployton page and saw this in news.

btw, seeing what is going on at the SDMB (they are charging to use the forums), I'd much rather deal with the occasional post ad.

I disagree... Only the right-margin is a bit of a bother, but other than that, I'd much rather have post ads than pop-ups.

And as far as "endorsing" is concerned... I really can't see this as being any more of a problem than with any other ads. It's an ad, I'm not endorsing anything. If anyone, MarkG would be the one doing the endorsing (considering he's the only one with any control over it).

I think it can even add a little humour, as Asher has clearly shown.

Edit: WTF!!11! I take that back! Anything but Civ3, I hate Civ3!

One would expect the site owner to display the level of maturity he requires of other posters though.
