Will someone plz help me setup an "email" game? Get a bigger avatar today!

I cant seem to remember what its called, never played it before, but its a game where people send each other the save game using email. I would really like to play in one of these games, just looking for anyone who knows how to play em to help me organize 5-7 players who are willing to play a long game that way. Personally I dont have time to play long games until schools out the normal way, thats why Id like to try using email.

If anyone is interested in helping me set up a game like that plz reply.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I can help set up a Play By E-Mail (PBEM) Game. I'm currently playing in <A HREF=/forums/"/forums/Forum2/HTML/001760__date=04_45"_>_Zeebo_Kengel.html's PBEM Game</A> and we have averaged about one turn per week. I would recommend keeping the number of players down to three or four just to help move it along. Go and read the original thread started by <A HREF=/forums/"/forums/Forum2/HTML/000819__date=05_48<_A.html HREF=/forums/">Zeebo</A> to get an idea of how we set up the timing and the peculiarities of email games (like diplomacy and civilization choice).

Full PM-box? Change here!

I am probably interested to join, however I have not the time to host a second email game. Nevertheless, if you have some questions how to set up a game, feel free to ask

Ok well im ready to host an email game. What Id like to do however is either play a scenario, or play the first 1000-1500 years in normal type play, since then all you are doing is making your first cities etc. When the turns become longer then the email game is really worth it.

Anyway my email is svgh@simnet.is for anyone whos interested in a PBEM game. I would start each turn around the evening or afternoon Icelandic time (which is about 5 hours after eastern USA and 1 hour before England). Please only email me if you are 100% sure you have enough time to complete the game (each turn only takes like a few minutes anyway, and there will probably be no more than 1 turn a day), but if your going on a vacation soon or something dont bother to start.

LOL... and he must be kind of idealist
Well, won't you like to join too? I think Apollo needs more of those crazy guys like us

Apollo: Your idea sounds not bad. In our PBEM game, we used the inbuilt game option and started on 2000BC. But the idea of an advanced scenario sounds better. Starting as a regular internet game would be ideal, however it will be very difficult to find a date, I guess...

My ideal posting time would be on 20.00 - 21.00 GMT.

I'm interested in playing an Email game. Since we are looking for people with different times of availability, I agree with Kengel that it will be very difficult to get the whole group online at once. A scenario is more likely to produce equal starting positions than the "accelerated start" option. But, please, no major changes to rules.txt!

My best time for posting would be 6:00-8:00 Apolyton time (11:00-13:00 GMT, I think).

Ok, let's get started...
I sent e-mail to Apollo (get icq!)
My pref is a normal game, random map, deity, raging, 1x1x.
If it can be organised let's play one intial session ONLINE to set up our civs and then move to e-mail?
Accelerated startup only gives you 2 cities by 2000BC(?); but most of us would set up much more than that, so it sucks

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Apollo: I sent you an email formula which I used to setup our ancient PBEM game. Perhaps, with some modifications, it might help you organizing a game; just send it to all interested player and collect their playing times and opinions.

DRexZ: If cctp = "Civilization- Call to Power", then sorry... Wrong game & forum ...
