From the Diary of Jamski van Helsing
The 31st of March 1854
After a long debate among the resdidents of the castle, the fish cook ADG, whom I had so nearly awakened last night as I stumbled through the kitchens, was the poor victim chosen by the ritual of voting to be killed. I forced myself to watch as he was impaled and still screaming with pain, burnt to death.
The salesman, Kassiopeia, nearly shared the same gruesome fate, but was spared by the toss of a coin. Whether fate, luck or God's blessing I cannot say, but the look of relief on the man's face was incredable.
I have resolved to enter the lower chambers tonight, in the hope of discovering what lay behind that door.
It is now night once more

Oh dear
From the Diary of the Duke o'York
Midnight, the 31st day of March.
Ever since this stranger came to my castle I have always know that the curse of the Sang Real would fall. I had hoped for a few more days, but... tell my son Flipside that he should forgive me, and I will see him soon... tell Jonny he is now the Duke...
...call the priest...?
...may God have mercy on my...
Letter to Mina Harker 31st March 1854
My dearest Mina,
I am lost in a vast sea of uncertainty. I must find the S.R in order to solve this mystery, but with every passing hour I become less certain that I will survive this adventure. Tonight, this very night, I found my host dead, apparently in the middle of writing an entry in his diary. His tounge is orange, and I suspect he was a victim of the same paint-based poison that killed the others, although my expertise on the subject is limited. At least his innocence in the matter is proven. To conceal the existance of the S.G, which he mentioned in his last scribbled notes, I have removed the pages that refer to it, and I am posting them to you.
As it turns out I was intending to ask the Duke for his permission to investigate the secret staircase further, having attempted access earlier to the kitchen, only to be rudely turned away by the two millitary officers resident in the house. They warned me not to stick my nose into castle business, and locked the kitchen doors. Naturally, I then proceeded to the first floor landing above the courtyard and essayed the library door, which remained unlocked. Once inside the library, however, it proved impossible to open the secret panel, which presumaby can only be opened from the other side.
Wish me luck, and I shall write again tommorrow.
Yours eternally,
Jamski van Helsing
