3 threads on bugs and fixes. Must be an extraordinarily buggy game that needs a whole three of them, no? Well may be it is, sadly...

2 announcements on ancient patches, like 1.02f and 1.12b. We're talking 1.15b, 1.18b now and 1.20f soon. But then, they're started by developers/publishers, which usually means they're topped forever, see the Unit Strengths by Era thread in the Strategy forum, which survived at least a dozen de-top requests.

Boris' review thread. Could make sense to leave it topped, but the game is out for almost half a year now. Not exactly the time for reviews anymore.

MarkG's Conquests Diary. Abandonned. 'Nuff said.

Spiffors "Comprehensive Feature List". Great work collecting informations from hints, guesses and vage announcements on websites, what the game will be about when it will be released. Should be left topped... but wait, what did you say? The game is already released and we know for sure what it is about? Well then... why is this thread still topped?

I would try the usual "PM a mod" method, but they are somewhat lazy and unresponsive in the last time here, and I have made bad experiences with the mentioned Unit Strengths thread, so this method is out.

So what will we do with the topped threads?

Oh, I forgot to mention... I demand this thread to be topped!

I sent 4 or 5 PMs to Mark and Ming around 6 weeks ago listing threads I thought could be safely untopped and why. I never got a response from Mark.

So which threads definitely should be topped?

How about a new Conquests FAQ-type thread with links to all the relevant threads and/or a new bugs thread with links to all the old bugs threads and un-top everything else?

True. There should be a new bug thread once 1.20 is out. The current mess is rather confusing. I don't think the developers spend any attention to it anymore. Detop them all.

Far be it from me to comment on site policy, however I will anyway...

How long has it been since Civ3 had a moderator who gave a damn about the game? I'm not talking about a frazzled admin who is in the Army now and can't spare a moment sometimes for Apolyton, let alone these forums for long stretches. Wouldn't that be where the problem is?

Isn't it rather obvious? Some other sites have had several new mods since Civ3 was released, and rightfully so. The game has an audience, and a large amount of interest. meanwhile, Apolyton has had zero new mods for Civ3 since Yin got sacked before the game was released.

No offence to Ming, but one human only goes so far. And no offence to Mark, I've seen him try. It's just that there is only so much of Mark to go around, and right now the mother country is claiming her fair share.
