Who says Fate* doesn't work in mysterious ways?

Theben is the first one to meet his maker. In fact, he was having a lucky streak at Las Vegas too, winning some big bucks at baccarat. Maybe because he was too lucky and almost broke the house. At any rate, while he was resting in his hotel room, he was gunned down by a mysterious person who dressed up as a room service waiter.

Back in New York, Guynemer, General Ludd, and Tuberski went to a Korean fruit store to look for an important member of the opposing Mafia family. However, as the barged into the place, something went terribly wrong. The shop was pitch black, with a faintly strange smell permeating the place. One of them, apparently Tuberski, took his lighter out and flicked it on.

A giant explosion rocked the neighbourhood, with a raging fire ensued. After the firemen put it out, they found 3 thoroughly burnt bodies, one of them still holding a lighter.

I was trying to figure out why four people died in a round and see that the rules were changed so that EVERYBODY who attacks gets killed.



Seeing as I want to get this over with I am going to hit flipside who is a bystander and am therefore dead. Game over.

I checked with UR, if you try to attack a Don with multiple people, one dies. If you attack a bystander with multiple people, everyone dies.

Not that having someone written down as a bystander stopped me sending one of my goons to hit them.

I reckon the format needs to be changed though. Team games don't work where 1 person does everything for the team as you are trying to organise things via PM which is never easy, and getting information to all team members rather hard. It didn't work with Jam's soccer game and it didn't really work here either.

It would be fun to have a massive brawl-type game, with each person who signs up having control of 7 or so game people, meaning a large list of "game people". That way everyone has orders to submit each turn.

So what happened the round where Jon Miller died?

True, it seemed like the goons were kinda left out. Perhaps a system where the Don sends out the orders to the Goons and each Goon has to his and only his action to the Administrator, that way there's a chance for the Goon to screw up or double cross or something?

Maybe adding locations with revenue in them and each Mob has to send Goons to pick up their cut. Then you wound not only have to figure out who the other Mob was you would also have to hit them at the right location.

Then why wasn't it posted. How is it he died but you didn't post that he died?

Turn One
The Skanksters killed Kassiopea.
The Ghengsters killed Spaced Cowboy.

Turn Two
The Skanksters killed Rasputin (well I assume he killed himself).
The Ghengsters killed Zopperoni (who was alive).

Turn Three
Jon Miller up and dies (assume he tried to hit someone unhittable).
The Ghengsters didn't get a turn.

Turn Four
The Skanksters killed Theben.
The Ghengsters Guynemer, General Ludd, and Tuberski get killed hitting a bystander (hadn't noticed the rule change to where bystanders have tommy guns to kill everyone and gangters only have one shot pistols).

It was turn three where I started losing interest since it was done just a few hours after turn two was posted and our team didn't get a chance to put in an order.

Idea: Maybe we could have each human player that's a Mafioso come up with three names of Goons. They then act as Don's with the fake people. Each non Mafioso comes up with one name that acts a bystander.

Thus everyone gets to play and we don't have people just be used by the Don.

Nah, the only rule change was a group of people who are sent to hit a Don will lose only one.

So each Mafisoso would play a team of 4 (including himself)? Okay, that's not so bad. Maybe make it that the Don can't be targeted until he runs out of hitman, but it takes one hit to kill a Don?

Right now the game is suffering from 2 things, lack of incentive to interact (b/c then people will figure out if you're mafia or bystander) and it's too fast. This one barely lasted 4 pages!

Thats why for next game I recommend everyone who is playing has their own secret group of mafia. This way, everyone knows all other players are mafia so they can interact without fear of giving away informtation. People just don't know who the other person controls.

The problem is we will need a rather large list of names for these mafia goons.
