quote: So all I need to do is change the refresh rate to 85 Hertz (the highest setting I have)? What is the reasoning to keep it at a lower setting in the first place (as that was the default setting...) |
The reason it defaults to a lower refresh is so it doesnt damage your monitor. The monitor is always the bottleneck with refresh rates. With higher resolutions the max refresh will be lower.
If changing your refresh doesnt work, try using the nvidia 4403 drivers Hex (if you arent already using those), seeing as you have exactly the same graphics card as me... i mean FX not MX in my other post.

That doesn't sound like the monitor at all.
Might sound like a stupid question, but how big is your power supply?

That shall do..........There can be problems with too small power supplies, but that isn't the case...........
The flickering, is it actually a normal flicker or the screen going blanck?
Which kind of CPU do you use (MHz)?
Which motherboard?

Tried to ICQ you but didn't work.........
CTP2 is the only game you have the problem?
Flickering would be more that you see the refresh of the screen, but a blank every 5 seconds sounds completly different.
Can you check on your monitor via the menu which frequency it is detecting? (Normally it tells you vertical/horizontal and resolution).
If you try to run in a different resolution, do you have the same problem?
Do you play music? Have you tried to switch it off?
