	Hive-Drone unification? Inflate your Upload Space

Yesterday I noticed jtsisyoda on the Hive member list. I guess the logical conclusion is the Hive and Drones have, besides having a permapact, officially unified similar to CyCon and PUT a while back.
Shouldn't they publically announce such a unification, just like we had to do from Tass as soon as possible after the CPU formation?

Well, ATM they can get away with this since Tass is banned.

IMO they should announce, even if only for the record.

Our only 'defense' for now is to wait till Tass shows up again.

Perhaps he is ambassador, authorised for both factions, who monitors and reports what happens on their forums and vice versa. We will know soon.

Yep. Remember that Simcity 4 pic MARKOS linked to?
DanQ says that its illegal. And when I pointed out markos linked to it, he took the "strict interpretation" and said Markos doesn't actually allow it...He just wanted to test things out
I'm asking Markos directly so I can have my postcount restored.

Btw, now you're here, could you please explain to everyone why the Hive-Drones wouldn't need to announce a unification? I'd tell so myself, if it weren't for the fact that I don't really understand your argumentation.

To other cyborgs: how about starting a thread in the general forum then, asking if unifications should be announced?

Anyway, this whole discussion is rather pointless: jtsisyoda is a member of both the Drones and the Hive, so he has access to all Hive plans & turn info. So really the question is not whether they have unified. The question is whether the Hive & Drone members have the respect for their fellow players to announce they have unified. And from how it looks now, apparently they do not find it necessary to tell everyone a basic piece of information such as whether we're playing against 1 or 2 factions...

I think it was already clear a while that those were cooperating smoothly.

They talked openly about how and when they met, and to what it culimated during the game. It's only surprising that only now a Drone member has access to Hive. I guess we can't really check the other way around with the Drone forum on another site.

As a consequence the Hive does not break its pact with the Consciousness MY 2155. The Hive thinks CyCon is still more or less friendly towards them and will not intervene when they attack PUT. Hive tells CyCon their plans for PUT, and CyCon claims to have no problem with it: "Good riddance with those evil PUTers!"
Due Consciousness (=CPU) pact infiltration information we see the Hive perform a military build-up. PUT (=CPU) reacts of course, and the Hive-Drone "surprise attack" has less success. The Hive-Drones wonder why.
I think the Hiveans would be rather pissed off if they found out later PUT and CyCon already had not just a pact but a true unification for quite a few years, that any message sent to CyCon automatically was known to PUT, and that the CyCon were intentionally misleading them in diplomacy.

Really, personally I think it's absolute basic game info to know at least who are the factions and your fellow players in the game, whether you're fighting against one or two factions ; basic info that should be known to everyone no matter what, not subject to diplomatical games or attempts to misguide your opponents.

How are we posting negative messages? We only ask the simple question who are the players in this game. It are the Hive and Drones who don't want to answer on a matter as simple as whether they're one or two factions. Their attitude is more likely to spoil things I'd say.

But unless you're pacted with a faction, you don't know who they're allied with. If you are pacted, there's a case for knowing, but what's the difference between unification and a strong pact, where you share diplomatic messages and the like anyway?

That's being posted in the privateness of this forum. Besides, I don't really mean it anyway. The Hive has in the past used all kinds of moral bullshit arguments, so why couldn't I do the same then too in reply?
