LL's silence speaks volumes Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

Must be nearly a week since we proposed that alliance with LL and not one word out of them on it ....

I suspect that they got what they wanted - a NAP for 35 ? turns - and now they are wanting to buy tech from MAST as well.

Question is : why did LL want the NAP ?

Some Possibilities:
a) Their strategy of building warriors for upgrade to Legions and Med Infs is outdated by the rapid advance in technology - requiring them to build defensive and mounted units to add/replace them

b) They plan on invading the other continent and don't want us interfering

c) They plan on invading either MAST or Sunshine and don't want us interfering

d) They are turtling and trying to grab as much of the continent as they can - their screen of warriors in the west near us and Sunshine is to see any approaching settlers as well as any military units

e) Waiting for the other continent to finish off Monkey and then joining them in a war on our continent

Or any combination of the above

Another question is: if LL doesn't sign the alliance - which frankly looks likely now, what is our response?

I would favor:

- get Sunshine and probably MAST into an alliance - with a policy of taking out LL so that they have no chance of joining the other continent's alliance

- thinking about seizing their horse city so that they will be much less capable offensively during the knight and cavalry era (we would also need to get Sunshine to agree to a BAN on trading horses to LL)

- if we can delay that long (not sure if we will be able to), get Leo's done before LL can be - though we may need to strike before Leo's is done - especially if we suspect that there is an alliance with the other continent

- without an alliance, IMO, the NAP with LL lasts only as long as we want it to or when any alliance of ours wants to attack LL ...

Feel free to add your comments and suggestions

We caught them off guard, they're likely voting on it. This is common to what GS did to me as well, perhaps that has jaded my view somewhat.

Yes, they are wanting to buy tech. Why is that any surprise?

Probably. Sucks to be them.

You missed my addition to the NAP? If they (or us) declare war on another team the NAP is null and void. Not a reason here.

That's what I'ld do.

Good luck. With 2 teams lacking Iron?

Good question.

Will SS deal?

Well, yeah...

Why not? Remember the other continent has no iron and wont for some time unless there something pops over there. If you guys can get Leos, I say delay that long, sure. Even though I'm bored and want war now.

Bah. Any deal only lasts as long as one party wants it to. Give em time, meanwhile let's work on MAST

SPEAKING OF, CAN SOMEONE BE AMBASSADOR TO MAST?

I'M in the middle of selling our house/moving and won't be having much time for this stuff over the next few months.
