"Sir!" Talent Lippman exclaimed as he burst into the Commissioner's office "Pardon me, you would want to know immediately. Remember the other group of humans? Our 1st Rover Company caught up with them and we are expecting to hear from their leader anytim.."
The comlink beeped, interputting the Talent. Aeolus looked at it. Sighing and unsure what to expect, he leaned forward to press the buttom which activated the wall display. Looking down at Aeolus and the Talent was the face of Sheng-Ji Yang, UNS Unity's Chief Security Officer. Muttering to himself mentally, Aeolus forced a smile on his face. He never liked the man, Yang has never done anything wrong but still, Aeolus could not help it but his flesh kept on crawling around the man.
"Ah, Commander Yang, this is a surprise. We thought we were all alone on this world because it has been more than a decade since we heard from others."
"Aeolus, it has been a long while. Good to see that you survived the Planetfall as well. We thought we were alone as well so we formed our own group. I am the Chairman of the Human Hive. To further our chances of surviving, we have formed ourselves into a collective and it has been effective."
"Chairman it is. Strange, we did not resort to this collective mentality. We have lived our lives according to the U.N. Charter under which we came. You and your people are more than welcome to join us. We must prevent the disfragmention of survivors from Earth or our struggles would have been for naught."
"I agree about preventing disunity but U.N. was a part of the problem that caused Earth's ruin. This is a new world, we must learn from our mistakes and find new ways. You would be prudent to abandon the Charter which is one of poisons from the dead planet from which we came and join us."

After several hours of discussions with the Chairman, Commissioner Aeolus was left with an unpleasant feeling. They reached an impasse and it was apparent that the Chairman will not join with Aeolus and his dream of acheiving human unity. Yang even wanted him to share their research on xenofungus and subsequent terraforming secrets but refused to give anything in exchange. Although the meeting ended peacefully, nothing productive came out of it and Aeolus had visions of Hive troops trampling over ruins of U.N. Headquarters.
The Peacekeeping Forces will have to be careful from on now and keep an eye on their western neighbor.
However it was not all gloomy. There were reports from 2nd Scout Squad in the south that they got glimpse of what appeared to be alien structures. Those weren't same as those two tall phallic structures they became accustomed to calling monoliths outside their bases. The new structures appear to be different. Best speculations by scientists were that those structures were built by some alien race that appear to be long since gone to extract energy and minerals from the planetary crust.
Next base will have to be built in that direction so Aeolus and his people will be able to claim those structures before Yang can. They might will need those extra minerals should relations between the Human Hive and the Peacekeeping Forces become.... not so cordial.
