Time is of the essence! Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I noticed right now that the Apolyton time has shifted back one hour. It used to be six hours behind my home time zone, now it's seven. How come? Has the summer passed so quickly that Apolyton has already dropped the daylight savings time?

I must say that I also find this very annoying. I am used to a 6 hour time difference and now it's suddenly 7 hours.

EDIT What? It is not 6:21. (We all know this, but I had to put it someware )

I haven't noticed, daylight savings? Lemme see...the time on my computer says about 11:00PM, or 23:00 now and I'm in EST.

Is one of the admins available for a comment on this? Why was the Apoyton time set back one hour on friday?

Maybe Toronto (where the server is/was located) has seperated from the rest of Ontario and declared "Toronto Standard Time".

Put an end to popups!

Could you set the script time forward one hour then? It says at the bottom of the screen "All times are EDT", but it isn't, it's EDT -1 now. It's just like when the Vatican threw out ten days in the 15th century. Most annoying.

See? My point exactly Huey. This is how it starts, just a test to see if we'll react like dairy cows do each year when the daylight savings time ends. And I know I am.

Mooh.

So, are you going to do anything about this or am I going to have to get used to a 7 hour time difference with Apolyton?

And while we're on the subject of time, I just noticed that the current date/time in the threads is not the current date/time but the date/time of the last post in that thread. You might want to do something about that.

Hmmm... whatta you think, Provost? This is untolerable! There's an imminent danger that the forums will get contaminated with mad cow's disease if the time isn't set right soon. But alas, it seems we'll have to wait till the cows come home for that...

Mooh!

Maybe if someone was to set the time right - one hour forward - we could close this thread, and not have to Mooh! it to the top of the page every couple of days!

The server is located in Ontario, Canada, and thus runs on EST. This time zoning will not change.

Got spare money?

Yes DanQ, but the problem is the forums now run on EDT -1, where it used to be EDT until two weeks ago. A lot of people have become used to EDT (including myself) and now it's been set back one hour. Plus, it says at the bottom of each page "All times are EDT", well it isn't!

It's too bad they finally corrected it. Since I live in the Central Time Zone, it was really nice having it set to my local time...

This is the way it should be. The most important time zone gets distinction.

What's the most important time zone you ask?

Why, whichever I'm in of course!

OMG, it's been set back one hour again. Couldn't you try and influence the people responsible for running the server to stop changing the time at random? It's most confusing right now.

Go with either EST or EDT, but make them stick to one of them!

Any findings as to why the script (and server) time keeps changing?

Do you think anything could be done to make it remain fixed - except for changes due to daylight savings time?

Thanks DanQ. Let's hope he comes up with something.

Added later: The script time has now been set back 8 hours , preventing anybody from posting more than their first post at the moment due to the flood control, and reversing the order of topics - at least in the OT.

I hope some of the server people are busy right now correcting the situation.
