Looking for a Earth Gigamap! Full PM-box? Change here!

Howdy. I'm on the prowl for a good, detailed and exact gigamap of the world. I've looked through the directory here without finding any. Can someone here perhaps suggest one that fits my requirements?

.mp files are map files - you use them by selecting "Start on pre-made world" from the start up menu...

Thanks very much, Stu; one more thing I've learned. Nice map.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

Maximum surface for classic is 10,922. Dimensions don't matter that much.

I had heard it was more than 10,000; thank you for that answer. Is there a max for MGE?

GIGAMAP is 127x230=29,200. Impressive, but a few criticisms. No Delaware or Hudson rivers, too little Jungle in Caribbean islands, no French rivers but Italian Po, flat Greece, no land bridge across Turkish straits, only Hills in Urals, no Pacific islands besides NewCal/Fiji/Hawaii. Almost looks like a simple stretch of the existing Large World, but some improvements. Greenland still too big, added massive Antarctica along SouthPole.

Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

MGE and ToT max is 32,767.

But that map looks nothing like a resized version of the original large world! I think it's Julius Brenzaida's gigamap, which was a stretched and resized version of my 100x100 "J_World" world map.

So the reason you're missing details, is because it was too small to put in at the original scale. I don't know how much editing Julius did to it. There's a far better gigamap out there... I attached one in this thread (the website it's from is down):

I like that GIGAMERCATOR one. I didn't think Julius' was much of an improvement over the Large World.

Hmm, i like the one Mercatore posted a link to. However, Scandinavia seems somewhat distorted in that version and Europe seems somewhat small? But i guess you can't have it all!
