MoM: City Unrest? Get a bigger avatar today!

I fail to understand how city unrest is determined in MoM. I know that the tax rates have a direct impact. However, in a recent game (playing the Dark Elves on impossible) one of the enemy wizards cast Armageddon and to my surprise my city unrest immediately increased from 1 rebel to 6 or 7 rebels in each base! (I lost that game...) I am clueless as to what actually caused these high levels of unrest.

Finally, I have had a look at the extensive 'MoM FAQ/Complete Strategy Guide'; however, I did not find any information on what happened in my recent game.

Can anyone explain this?

Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Armageddon automatically creates 2 unrest in each enemy city.

It also destroys production and any special in which a volcano lands on.

So, if you had volcanos show up in your city limits, you could go to starving and create a lot more rebels.

Thanks, Tuberski! That did explain my recent experience.

However, I find that--for instance--a Dwarven city has a lot more rebels than my usual Dark Elven cities. I was wondering if there exists some kind of unhappiness in all races other than the chosen starting race.

I know of the effects of temples, shrines, etc.; tax rates, garrisons and different enchantments (well, I think I have a good idea of the effects of most of them). Having said that, I still think I'm missing some crucial information...

(And yes, I do have more questions, like: How do I take a screenshot from the game? Are the chances of potential spell books in nodes higher on higher difficulty levels? Is it possible to find chaos, nature or sorcery spell books in nodes if I've chosen only life or death spell books--or none at all? Are there still good MoM sites to visit? Has anyone tried the multiplayer shell (potential PBEM)? )

Dark Elves cause an automatic 30% unrest state in Dwarven cities.

In fact, Dark Elves are the most hated races of all, with Halflings being the most liked.

Put an end to popups!

I found some explanation in the manual (e.g. page 64). However, it is less informative than the tables and I find it hard to locate specific information in the manual--I find it somewhat messy, that is.

Great Wasting causes unrest in all enemy cities too.
If you cast Just Cause, the unrest in all your cities will be reduced by 1.
The Move Fortress spell can change your Capital Race.

bakalov, I got this FAQ a few days ago. However, there are still issues not covered--like the city unrest problem. Generally, I find the FAQ very interesting and fun reading. Thanks for the additional info
