Can we please have a proper translation, from someone who actually speaks/reads German, and not the best that Google can do. No offence Matt, but speaking French, then I am well aware of the hilarious mistranslations that internet tools can give.

I got "with his/her blood", but am not totally certian of the rest, and wish that Jamski (some hope ) or someone else who speaks German (General maybe?) could give us a proper translation.

What is the noun for a German speaker? Like francophone?

This is even harder than the translation.
Who can tell me whence cometh this quote? Luther? A German playwright or philosopher? It's not from the Bible, because Satan isn't mentioned there, though it could possibly be a creative translation.

I'm not sure what the yellow circle could stand for, although I thought that it might represent a gold coin. Not sure who that could point to though. The debt collector?

It is a snippet from a cantata by Bach, number 80, called Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott, or "Our God is a strong fortress".

Martin Luther did compose a hymn called "God is our fortress" (I only know the Finnish name, Jumala ompi linnamme), they might have something to do with each other.

I looked up Jumala ompi linnamme from a Finnish hymn book (I don't know what the proper term is, those books with hymns they have in churches). The Finnish translation was pretty liberal and I couldn't find anything of value from it with my little German skills, but the book did say that it's based on the Psalm #46. I then looked that up in a copy of the Holy Bible in Finnish, but the psalm, being in the Old Testament, had no mention of Jesus, meaning the line has to be deciphered directly and as it is.

Hence, I'm digging out my old German dictionary from the time I studied it a few years ago and trying to translate it myself.

You can also use psalter, a book of psalms, but that is even more rare.

Yes, it appears to be a reference to the Bible. Thanks for saving me the trouble of translating it, that does sound just about right.
