You a most benevolent chairman Lazarus name China as a supreme power but is it not so that China is opening her border for capitalist influences. Has China not recently recognised private property. The seeds for a capatalist system are their. China will grow in power that is true. A superpower yes but a Hivian dictatorship or goverment structure is just to unlikely.

Hive - Corporate police state.
China is opening to capitalism yes but i still don't see any real political freedoms or many civil rights, do you? and i highly doubt there will be that many more in the future to come.

As for stable nations centered around one person Rome, mayans,England(monarchy before parliament). It all depends on the leader, good ones thrive the nation more then any senate, bad ones i agree will set the country back rather abit.
Personally i see parliaments as a small gain/small loss option while giving all power to a single person turns that into extremes.

and about supreme, until the discovery of weapons able to knock out a nuclear missile in midflight theres no such thing as supreme

China is opening up. And yes i belief in a open China mabey not as open as the western world is but more open as China is now. Political freedoms will increase and civil rights will continue to raise an issue and will probebly improve as well. To attract foreign investors you have to invest in civil rights.

Not one of the nations you mention had one single leader at the zenith of their power. Rome for example allmost always had a emperor and a praetor. To persons both with the same amount of power. Besides the Senate has always played a (small) part. Also the free citizens of rome had more power then thought before. A emperor ruled only with their consent.

England is the perfect example of a nation that flourished with a parlement. Not untill the parlement took over Brittain achieved world power. Brittain is the school example of the power of parlement.

Mayan culture is just like egyptian culture more complex. All ancient civillications are. In mayan culture we have an large aristocracy and a large religious cast. Not one central power.

The only example is the chinese empire but the emperor ruled with a mandate of the sungod. If china was hit by famine or a other disaster then the emperor was overthrown.

I think the people are to wel educated to continue to believe in one single power.
Besides when a supreme power rises a civilisation almost alway is destroyed or crushed when this one leader dies. Almost never a stable empire is achieved.

The preator if i remember right was only the commander of a legion, therefore there were several and they never had any power on par with the emperor. Before the senate which turned Rome into a republic the emperor was viewed as next to godhood, the empire began to thrive at this time.

Nobody could over-rule the kings decision, high priests were powerful and had influence i agree though.

the average person in my empire is among the thickest around, only those of zealot quality selected to become scientists for continuing the cloning research, military development etc get anything more then basic teaching.

IIRC, Rome started as a republic. It was Julius Caesar who tried to become an emperor, as a result he was killed.

A praetor was the highst official in ancient roman times he was the main creator of legislation. In the early roman days the empire was always ruled by to consuls. Indeed after Julius ceasar was killed the titel emperor was purly symbolic. Emperor was replaced be "Ceasare" a honourary title. Although may ceseares reached the same power as an emperor supreme power was only achieved in a few cases. Besides the power of legislation was in the hands of Lawprofessionals. As you see rome is a difficult example for your theory.

But you are right to some extend as long as you live your empire shall remain powerfull. But no one is immortal dispite longvacity.

It's a nice effort.

But it seems that:

a) We don't need magic in our game.
b) Not all figures should depend on population size of the army.
c) I propose an alternative method: a number of points calculated upon your nation's stats, and then, a "shop" where you can "buy" military units, for your points, with some prices being modified by the nation's stats, as well.

Excellent idea you have there

I was just thing, could there be, that if your citizens have bad lifes, some (about 1000-5000) could "protest" and don't go to army. Unless the army has merchants, though.

Among other things, yes. Other actions that constiute godmodding:

- Refusing to take damage from other peoples' attacks.
- Claiming to have things you couldn't have, for financial or other reasons.
- Claiming to possess things that are scientifically impossible*, and/or RPing things that would never work as actually working.

* This is not necessarily godmodding, but is only allowed when all nations in an RP consent to it being there, like the various space nations out there with FTL travel and fleets of military spacecraft.

Not really. When the first action constitutes god-modding, then it isn't god-modding to ignore it. (not sure which actions Squebbo is refering to, though).
