I've used it twice, the first time sending myself a message to test the new feature, and the second time in direct reply to a private message I received.

So in reality, I've sent one and received one... It's nice to know the feature is there though.

BTW, how do you view the private messages outbox? I've checked the option in preferences for keeping the outbox visible, but it's nowhere to be seen.

I was just chatting with bird and he made a great point.

If it was listed in the individual forums instead of just on the main page more people might use it.

Most of us bookmark the forums we visit since the site is sometimes slow and it saves time.

I link straight in and forget to check. I would use it more if it was also at the bottom of ot or mp or strat forums.

rah has a point - if it is accessible from all the forums it's more likely to be used.

One added plus is that "spam-like" personal asides currently plaguing some threads in OT could be done through the private mail channel, once the posters can be persuaded about its advantages.

What's your problem? Anyway, if you have a problem stop going into threads like these, send me a PM or something if you have a beef. Otherwise, lay off.

If it's not too much trouble, it wouldn't hurt to make the PMs more easily accessible rather than just having them in the main forum page, like others have said.

Yes, I have used it once. To send a PM to MarkG, criticizing the PM system. Or actually it was just a random comment. But I always check the private messages from the front page.

I've gotten 11, sent 6... They're good, but kind of out of the way b/c I have to log in and I have the OTF bookmarked

They're actually very useful, contacting people who you can't e-mail or ICQ (for whatever reason), its good when you want to write something to someone but you don't want it to be public information...

And not just on the main screen, but wherever the initial bookmark leads to...

As it is now, I never log in to check my inbox, too much of a hassle.

Narck, in the PM preferences you have an option to get an email warning when someone sends you a PM.

So, how are things going in the States? Feeling at home already or would you rather come back to the Netherlands?

btw, the script reads the username/password cookie, so if you have your preferences set to keep a cookie, then you shouldnt have a problem

OK, you are right and I'm not. Please accept my apologize.

I put your interview, yes, but it always had a link to your site at the top of the page with a promotion of it. Your web is always the first one in all (except one) the links section of the web. I don't put a link to your document because you site is only in english, and mine only in Spanish.

All the webs where I obtain info I put a link to it, and if the document is made by the administrator of the web I put a link to its site.

I think that are sufficient Dececency Acts considering the thousands of webs that literally copy all the documents.

I know that you are 24h-365d webmaster, I know that you receive lots of email, and I know that I'm a bit an annoying one.

This is why during my CanalCiv epoch I give you a small "trophy" (can you remember something similar to a dancing tree?), so,
