	Mistakes part deux. Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Alright, that last thread was a mistake in itself, but I rather liked the idea of a thread for mistakes people have made in games... so let's have one, minus the spam.


I made a huge, huge, mistake today in Master of Magic. I found a nice little place to build a city that was within range of four (4!) wild game resources., and with all of those food bonuses combined that city basically fed my entire army by itself. But what was my mistake? Only putting one swordsman on garrison there. I let an enemy swordsman unit walk through my territory thinking it was no threat, and when it attacked that city I wasn't too concerned... I can buff up my swordsman and it'd be a piece of cake.... ah, but the enemy wizard cast black sleep and I had no means to dispell it.

Needless to say, the city was taken (and razed) with no effort what so ever. The next turn, every single one of my units disbanded due to lack of food.

I bought Call to power as I was addicted to civ2 back then.. I never played it lol!

I was playing fifa2003 one day... my keeper had caught a header and was lying on the ground. I wanted to throw the ball to my central defender, but for some odd reason I threw the ball against the post and it bounced in my own goal!!

Another time I Was playing BG, durlag's tower. I wanted to take out some duergar with a lightning bolt. Unfortunately the battle was pretty tough and chaotic. So instead of killing the duergar, I electrocuted nearly all my own party members, and missed all my enemies. I'm never good with lightning bolt

I play alot of MP games, so I have lot of mistake stories.

I was playing in a Soul calibur 2 tourney and in the finals I was losing 2 - 0. (you need to win 3 sets). After barely grabbing a set with my secondary character, I decided to switch my character at that moment. Ive been playing my main 2 character throughout the tourney, but I lost both match with them. So I picked the best Anti character agst his character. But the problem was that I wasnt as skillful with that character compared to my mains. I got destroyed. Games didnt last round 4, and on the fourth round I attempted a desperate suicide attack (theres this attack where you stab urself to inflict huge dmg to opponent) he dodged it and I lost.

In morrowind, I made the mistake of knocking off Caius Cosades. Fortunately, I didn't commit hte ultimate mistake, and save over it.

Thats bad.

In Morrowind, I went through the town of Sadrith Mora stealing anything I could from houses and then selling it off when I could. Fine in and of itself. The problem is I now have a mission to steal a recipe from one of the houses. I have already stolen it and sold it who knows where.

In Morrowind, I got into a fight with some man in a resturant. I killed him, and thought that I could take on anyone!
So I went outside and picked a fight with the guards to get their armour.....It was a short fight

I pissed of Brother T'shober in Wiz7 and ended up killing him. That messed up the story, of course, but then I had to deal with his stupid ghost

In NHL 2001 some guys change stick hand in the middle of the game for some reason. Eric Lindros will go from right-handed to left. It's also happened with Chelios and Rob Blake.

	Increase the size of your Attachments

Lost string in BG2 needed to assemble the bow that shots lightnings, and my char was an archer ....

I sold my Imperial Armor, then ahad to search everywhere to get it back so I could finish the main quest.

That's the armor they give you when you join the Imperial Legion.

I hate when that happens! I looted the Ald'Ruhn mages guild, then got a theives guild quest to get a dagger from there. Who knows where it is now... Had to spawn another.

Here's another: In Sim City 4 before I knew what the [esc] key did, I demolished 1/2 of a city because the snap-to-disaster kicked into effect when I was demolishing some roads. The demolish field selected half the city .

I had F-19 Stealth Fighter for my Amiga ages ago. I borrowed it from a friend, but didn't get the manual. Uh-oh. I was doing fine, and had worked out most of the keys on my own, but couldn't work out how to complete missions that required you to take photographs of buildings, ships, etc. So I would just fly around and try to blow up the things that I was supposed to photograph, knowing that if I landed then I wouldn't have completed the mission and I'd probably be chucked out of the air force on my bum.

Playing Midwinter and Midwinter II, I often ended up just shooting the characters I was supposed to talk to to get missions. They just stood about, and never took cover, so often you could get them shot just by being near them when the enemy planes arrived.

Just kidding... oh gosh so many mistakes! Mostly it has something to do with pressing a wrong button or whatever.

That was in Civ2. I built an army of 70 units to unload in the enemy continent. So, I take the first city on my path, and for whatever reason I don't remember I unload all I've got in it and end the turn. The AI strikes back with a nuke and BANG! Lost like 30 howitzers, 30 tanks, battleships, an aircraft carrier, stealth bomber... OUCH!

I know lol, that sucks.. never fortify more than 3 mech inf in a city. The AI will never nuke a convoy of transports. As long as they are protected by (AEGIS) Cruisers they're safe
