And if you think of two great ideas at once, you can do two things:

1. get someone else to post a topic for you.
2. put your second great thread in a word document and post it later in the day. If it's that magnificent, it can wait for 8 hours.

3 topics? Would it be possible to create a new database entry/table with every user, starting with 0 and increased by every new topic? when its 3 then you cant post anymore topics?
is that possible?
just a thought, I dont know much about UBB code.

1 in 8hours is a step in the right direction, but well, that would mean, I have to connect every 8 hours. 3 in 24 hours would be better.

If the vote matters at all, I'm still in the against group. Lancer is correct though as it seems we are now in the minority. If a limit must be set I believe anything greater than one thread every half hour is excessive. That would be sufficient to avoid incident's such as the 1212 problem happening again yet still allow for a poster with 2 legitimate ideas for topics to start them without having to worry about time.

In case I wasn't clear enough above, I'm still against any limit.

Sparrowhawk, the Lurker who will not be affected by this rule, yet is still offended/annoyed enough by it to post his opinion.

As MarkG already pointed out a couple of times, a PERL hack to allow 3threads/24H - all 3 right after each other if you feel like it - is under works. If you know PERL and think you can help, check out this thread.

One thread per 8 hours is no better than 1 thread per day for those of us who visit once a day. I know this seems generous by comparison, but it really doesn't help.
