I'm not necessarily against any of these (never played a Conquest yet...), but I may as well take the opportunity to revive my idea of playing with the Double Your Pleasure mod. For those who haven't tried it, this adds a TON of techs and improvements, wonders and units, reorganises the existing ones and adds a zillion resources. This essentially could make the game less of a challenge (more lux etc), but at the same time could be worth trying out.

I voted (British in an Epic), but I think we should be more organized than this poll. I suggest we make the polls in this order:

1. Epic game or Conquest? (the most important question)
And once this first questions has been answered, the other polls:
2. With a mod or not?
3. What Civ? (with runoffs)
4. Difficulty level
5. Size and layout of the map

Edit: if anybody tells me it is a good idea, I'll organize that

I voted Dutch in Age of Discovery Conquest as the most challenging conquest option and thus the most worthy of consideration.

Would agree with Spiffor with all his coments.

Hum, if we play the Napoloic one in either position, we may want to outlaw accepting cities for MPPs in our deals because otherwise we win on turn 1.

On the Epic choices, Dutch would be rather easy as an epic given their traights. Yes, UK is probably the most challenging of the epic options listed, and thus the epic choice most worthy of consideration.




Rome is probably the easyist civ to play in Rise of Rome.

Japan is probably the most challenging of the WW II ones. US is probaby the easyist in the same one.

Yes, even with "fighting to the death" winning, the AI is particularly bad mounting amphious operations and we're going to survive much longer than we would against a human oppoent.
