RESULTS WILL BE SKEWED Increase the size of your Attachments

YOur research subject is flawed, my friend.....

You will get different results because you have not controlled for the variables...

For example, i love this game, i play for hours at a time....and i paid 9.99 for it.....

BUT i got a substantially better product for my 9.99 than if i had paid 50 bucks for it......why? Because of the heavy MODding/patching that became available several months after the game was released....

I can tell you right now, that i would have dropped 50$ inmediately for MOO3 IF i had read good reviews like the ones after the patching/modding took place.

I bought a different product as the one sold circa 2002. Moreover, product improvement was inversely correlated to its price. Hence, your experiment will fail to produce its intended results.

2Dragonlord, yes, now i realize that MOO3 is not right object. Too many players say that patched game is different. That's exactly i asked for preorder information.

I think that Rise Of Nations would be a better object.

I would probably rate RoN about the same that I rated Moo3, maybe a 2. MoO3 at least for me was playable, RoN had godawful frame rates on my well-above-specs-machine.

Payed $50, a couple of days after it came out
got enraged,
took it back to Fred Meyer the next day
they would not refund my money
Enraged I busted it to bits. Next time I'll try before I buy.
A 1 of 5 is too good for this game. I would rather play MOO1.

oh, in that context playable meant it would load and move through turns without crashing. Technically playable. RoN wasn't, on my pc anyways.

I preordered and bought for about 45 Euros.

I'll give it a 3.

It has massive potential, but also massive flaws, so overall an average score.

I bought MOO3 last October, paid around $30 Canadian for it. I had no problems installing the game, spent many hours online reading the Atari Moo3 forums trying to figure out the game.

Gameplay: 2/5
Concept:3.5/5
Documentation: -5/5 (The manual has an ok backstory, the rest of it is a work of fiction)

muxec: Overall 2. I can't justify giving the game a passing grade given the slew of bugs, poor documentation, and appallingly bad post-release support.

Bought it on its release day for $40.

Rate it a 0.

It has DEFINITELY affected my game buying habit and how much research I do before purchasing software. Dropped my expenditures on game software drastically.

No troubles installing the game other than now my computer feels "violated."

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Bought it on the day it was released (40 euros)

Backstory/ concept: 5

Gameplay pre-patch: 1.5 (AI offered NO challenge at all)

Gameplay post post-patch: 2.5 (many improvements, still some big flaws though)

Gameplay with fanmods: 3.5 (the only thing keeping this game alive is the tiny fanmod community. There are some great mods out there!)

Support: 2 (well, they released a patch, so that's the only thing saving them from getting a 1. Never heard a thing from Atari and QSI after that though. Simply abysmal.

Overall: 3 (thanks to the dedicated community). I still play the game and have a good time, but it could've been so much better!

MOO3 will be forever known as that game that had great potential but failed to live up to the hype. I hope Space Empires V will be better.

I received it just last Thursday. Got it off ebay for a total of, what, nine dollars? Something around there.

Of the two hours I've spent playing it, I can't STAND IT! The backstory was awesome, yes, but the interface is so counter-intuitive its hardly playable.

I'm gonna give it some more time, yeah, but as of right now I'd give it a two. It looks good, I just need to some how master the interface. And find some good mods and stuff...

BTW according to reviews the interface of MOO3 comparing to X2:The threat us friendly.
