One or the other just happened to the thread where I was collecting data about deleted threads. It was still listed in the Off-Topic forum, but when I clicked on it, I got an error.

Did you delete this, Ming, or did it just mysteriously vanish?
The thread was titled "Ming, Please Do Not Delete This Thread". In it, I said:

Everyone: If you have had a thread deleted in the past few weeks, please let me know. Please include the name of the thread (if you can remember it), the topic of the thread, approximately when it was deleted, and any thoughts you might have on why it was deleted.

Yes I deleted it. First, it should have been posted in the Apolyton Forum. Second, you had already asked in other threads in the Apolyton forums for people to post the information there.

Ming, the requests in the Apolyton forum provided links to the thread you deleted. I posted those for two reasons: (1) to inform those reading the threads (who were likely to contribute to the thread) that I was collecting the information, and (2) to ensure that the thread would not vanish without a trace like those I was collecting information on.
I accept (after being told by everyone in no uncertain terms) that those with complaints should post here. However, this was not a complaint. It was my way of collecting information so I could make a better informed and documented complaint in the future, if the data justified it. I wanted to hear from everyone, even those who are too lazy to visit the Apolyton forum. Anything less would have been unscientific.

OK, Ming. My next one will be in the Apolyton forum. How do you recommend I spread the word to everyone in the Off-Topic forum about the thread without posting links to it all over the OT (as I cannot be sure of which threads which people will read)? I wouldn't want to get a vacation for spamming.

Ming, I would like to make a formal request. If you see a serious thread in the OT which you think belongs in the Apolyton forum, please move it instead of deleting it. I would have liked to see what people had to say on the topic. I am not getting much response to my new thread.
