Scientific Research and other civs Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

I'm wondering if we are watching the changes on the amount of turns it would take to research alternate techs.

Presumably we should be able to determine if another civ learns a tech since our time to research should drop once they learn the tech.

Is it possible to get any information this way? At what point does the time to research go down? When 1 or more civs get the tech?

Nice thought, but I'm pretty sure you have to have contact with the civ that has the tech for the tech cost to drop.

I could be wrong though.

Wervdon is right, you have to have contact.

We've used this method twice before to determine what techs a civ has upon contact. (Since the prices only drop once you meet them, so you can tell by comparing prices at the start of the turn and prices once you make contact.) However, it would probably be a good idea to keep track of this more often; while the other civs will probably be willing to tell us what they have, it never hurts to have proof for (or against).

Writing and Mathematics - 240
Horseback Riding - 150
Ceremonial Burial - 60

We are working on that. Hopefully if the chat goes down this weekend we will know then.

I have read F-P's strategy guides for MP, that being said my guess is that you are correct based on the size of this map relative to the number of CIV's we have. But hopefully we will find out for sure this weekend.
