This is a good point at least where the actions of administrators are concerned. I forgot to consider this. Master Zen when he performs actions on MZO which an obejctive observer would call "spam", he responds with "By definition, the administrator does not spam".

For the actions of NON-administrators and moderators, however, what we do can still be spam even if it has not YET been labelled as such. Remember the workings of the Orwellian state in 1984? Online discussion forums work a little bit like that. You see, it's not that something BECOMES spam, it's that it is eventually decided that it is now spam and that it always was spam.

It's sort of like how Oceania can declare itself to have always been at war with a foreign power. Remember, objective reality does not exist in online forum administration and moderation. Truth is determined by forum staff.

The issue was connected to the Hall of Fame voting. You see, Trip was one of the people getting a lot of votes for the Hall of Fame and a number of the Off Topic people and the Civ2 people complained about it (for what reason, I can't figure - it was about d*** time that some on-topic Civ3 people were honored). Master Zen, Trip, BigFree, and some others apparently then got into a running flame war with some Off Topic people. Ming apparently got tired of it and told people to chill out. MZ and Trip did it again and were thus banned and PCR'd.

Of course, I recite these events only having been told about them second hand, so that with a grain of salt.
