There's a spot on the end boards at GM Place (maybe about 1 metre to the side of the crease) where if you hit it just right the puck will curl back on goal. I've seen the Canucks try that a couple of times... and it's freaked out more than one opposing goalie on a "routine" icing.

If a team is playing well, but down two or even three goals, knowledgeable fans can tell. In which case, they cheer to rally the troops. If a team is playing beneath it's ability, the fans have a duty to let them know it. If they play well, they will be rewarded with cheers. Only dumbass fans blindly cheer their team when they stink it up on the ice.

Silence would be hard enough on the players. Cheering them for completing a pass, or the goalie for stopping the puck on a waved-off icing would needle them. But booing in the second period of a playoff game? Talk about giving up home ice advantage. The fans then deserve to lose with the team.

at least we weren't being goons at the end. did you see anyfights in the final minutes? no. becaue we've got class, and even when we lose you cant take that away from us. Sharks = classy, flamers = goons.

i wouldnt know - i dont watch eastern conference. but why cloud the issue? 3/10 = 30%. 3/7 =42.7%. that means 12.7% more goonier on the part of the flamers.

A nice little distraction, but there were very few penalties this game, so I don't see why it's relevant.

A lot of it just has to be luck. Nabokov has more penalties than Kipper, infinitely more actually. Did you see him take a clear whack at Niemenen(?) who was a clear foot away from the crease near the end of the last game? Just took his stick and whacked him in the back of the leg.
