it simply won't work Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I don't know what is going on, but Galciv has not yet worked on my computer yet. I get the menu screen when I start it, but clicking on "play game" causes the illegal operation window to pop up and shut it down. I have been having an email conversation at tech support for the last three weeks, and he keeps asking for the debug.err file, which doesn't exist. he finally asked for my dxdiag.txt file, which I generated and sent to him10 days ago, and he has refused to reply since.

I will cheerfully send all the correspondence to anyone who might be able to help. in fact, instead of trying the deaf ears of this particular fellow, I will send it all to the main support address.

it has been frustrating.

Put an end to popups!

Well, I have not heard back from anyone at support, so it seems that they have given up on me, and I will never be able to play the game.

Increase the size of your Attachments

The only thing I can think of is to talk to them more. Or reistall it.

I wondered about that, and I did the directx install from the galciv cd, hoping that would fix it if that was the problem.

Enter the AD-FREE zone

Use the run command on the windows start menu and type "dxdiag" (then OK)

Same as I have, and I can run GalCiv fine.

Odd that it doesn't generate that error file.

I'm not sure what's up, sorry.

The good news is that I reinstalled windows on a separate partition and Galciv now works!

At least from that partition...
