The Arthur C. Clarke Quote Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

You know, the one that sometimes flashes up after posting.

I think "posible" is spelled wrong there.

I think it appears after 'reply with quote'.

Edit: well, it's Mark Twain allright, but the word possible doesn't occur there:

Yes, I had the same thought and tested it, the Clark quote appears after posting a new topic and there is indeed a typo there:
<center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:

I'd just like to express my agreement with the quote (in its correctly spelt form of course).

Naturally it overrides Occam's Razor (for anyone who disagrees with my beliefs)

OK, now that Paul has found out where the original 'New Quotes' thread was, I must say that I feel I am a bit responsible for the typo, as far as I typed it incorrectly when I suggested the quote.

Note: but that's nothing compared to the pride I feel because the quote was indeed implepented by MarkG and DanQ...

And, yes, Gary, I find the sentence absolutely true.

I remember that the Brits were going to knight the old gent, but then rumors started to surface about his sexual preferences, and the Brits sort of put a hold on the knighting. Them Brits are just conservatives at heart. <-- In the general direction of the UK

Not that I remember his Second Law...

Markos,

Not a poor translation, here's the original:

"the Brits sort of put a hold on the knighting"

IIRC the media said that Arthur asked for the postponement himself, to avoid embarassment, until he could clear his name. (But that might have just been media speculation).

That's quite old I'm afraid. Now we don't need to read hardware manuals, it's the software that's the bugger

Well, there are still people out there who like messing around with hardware (like me) and most software you don't need manuals for these days. With all those annoying wizards and paperclips (where's that puke-smilie when you need it ) and stuff like that, even my parents can learn to work with it

But even with regard to software I recognize the feeling

Not only that, but it's nearly impossible to find manuals for hardware or software these days.

I hate online documentation.

How the hell did this thread go from a typo in one of the quotes to the availability of hard/software manuals?
