The ESC undo when editing Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

I've developed a habit of using the ESC key - almost a reflex action - when I finish a typing sequence. Unfortunately in the forum editor , this means that your typed entry is entirely wiped out.
Is there a way of recovering your lost entry ie undo the undo?

Put an end to popups!

This happens to me as well - sometimes the browser would try to load a particular picture after it's brought up the page, but the picture just doesn't come up. So to stop the loading, I hit ESC. Then of course all my typing disappears. Annoys the hell outta me, but I don't think there's anything the admins can do about it.

I dont seem to have this problem. To stop the loading, I hit command-.
Also, I just tried hitting ESC while typing this. Nothing happened.

Therefore, the obvious solution to this problem is...

Get a Mac!

Depending on your browser and operating system, one of the following should work for you:

ctrl+z
alt+z
command+z
ctrl-u
alt-u
right-click and select "undo"
select "undo" from the "edit" menu

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

MvW: Tried them all - no luck I'm afraid. BTW I use IE5 (minimum install)

I can't effect "command+z".

Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

The point is, none of the undoes will ever work because the stupid browser thinks there is nothing to undo - it is simply returning the page to its default state (ie no typing).

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

I use Netscape and this kind of screwy behavior doesn't happen.

And why on earth would you press <esc> unless you are using vi?

Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

re why I automatically hit ESC, I've just been able to confirm it's from playing too much civ2. I hit ESC to quit the F menus! It's now too ingrained.

I tested this using Opera 3.6 - the ESC did not delete the entered text but it froze the browser. Can't win!
