Lets get ready to FUMBLE! Support Apolyton

Don't ask about the title, I don't know either.

Can't find one so I'll make my own.
Difficulty: regent or monarch
Players: Preferably 4
Size: Small
Conquests ver. 1.22
Preferably people from North America or nearby timezones. 24 hours to hold turns unless you have a reason.

The rest can be decided mutually.

Archipelago, small, 70%, restless barbs, regent (dang ties make me decide stuff), rest of the mid-settings.

Play order.
Gamecube64- Caspiansea_weed (TA) hotmail (TOD) com - England
Aqualung71- akwalung71 at yahoo dot com - Vikings
Sabrewolf- sabrewolf AT blackhole DOT ch - Byzantines
Kloreep - ben surveypoint com - Netherlands

Lets get ready to FUMBLE!

1. WHAT... will be the difficulty!? (regent or monarch)
2. WHAT... will be the map perimeters!? (small size)
3. WHAT... are the settings!?
4. WHAT... will be your civilization!?
5. WHAT... is your E-Mail!?
6. WHAT... did I say 3 for when there are six questions!?

Come on fourth player, we need you!

I'll sign up. I can usually send turns on pretty fast, and I'm in NA.

1. Regent. Monarch just means more corruption and harder research. I have a grudge against the first...
2. Small is good for 4 players. Tiny could work too, but small gives us a little more room.
3. Barbs... Restless or Raging. For everything else, probably medium is best (Continents, 70% water, Temperate, 4 billion, etc.)
4. I'll try the Celts if they're available. (Unless we aren't doing Ag civs)
5. ben surveypoint com
6. You tell me

1) monarch
2) 4 players --> small (tiny is too tight imho)
3) archipelagio 70% (every other game is pangea or continents, this would make something new )... everything else default
4) depends on the settings. byzantines, if archipelagio, else netherlands
5) sabrewolf AT blackhole DOT ch
6) huh?

playing order: best put me after aqualung and before you north americans... even though we're quite flexible, geographical order makes sence

Put an end to popups!

West to East doesn't make geographical sense? I'll go with it though.

1. Monarch or regent

2. Small map

3. I'd like to try archipelago too, probably big islands so we get one each?

4. Unfortunately it seems I'm too late to claim the Byzantines or Netherlands, so I'll have to Berserk you all and go for Scandinavia (if archipelago)

5. akwalung71 at yahoo dot com

6. You forgot the most important question:

WHAT......is the capital of Assyria?

Yeh, Monty Python. There was a scene in the Holy Grail where they had to answer 3 questions in order to cross a bridge over a huge ravine. I assumed Gamecube was referring to that in his 3 questions.

But that's Apolyton for you....ask an obscure question, and you usually get an equally obscure but correct answer!

(not that I have any notion of whether your answer was correct, but I don't doubt you!)

I got the Ag civ, woohoo.

Fear the Dromon and the Berzerk, though.

And let's go ahead and start if you want, though Aqualung has said in another PBEM we're both in that he won't be able to play his turn till sunday, and presumably the same applies to this game. (Don't worry, I can attest he passes the turn pretty quickly normally. )

Also, Gamecube, I note you have Aqualung as the first player, but if you're starting the game, it'll have to be you first. (It can then proceed in the same order as you have up - me, Aqualung, Sabrewolf)

I've sent 4000BC to Sabrewolf.

I had to reload the game, since you hadn't checked "wait at end of turn". Also, accelerated production is on - was this intentional? If not, I'm happy to restart - especially since I've got a real crappy start position!

Also Gamecube, I don't recommend you name your saves "..Turn 1", since it won't save as a Civ3 ".SAV" file, and I have to rename it otherwise it won't come up on my load game screen.

AP is fun

is your starting position is really that bad? no fresh water, no access to the sea, no potential 2-tile-food tiles? have you tried wandering around to find a better spot for your starting location?
i'd say it's gamecube's call...
