havn't met all of you yet, but to me, it doesn't look special. netherlands didn't build the capital at the starting location and aqua obviously got an SGL and built the pyramids

Sabre: it was my first tech, which as luck would have it was Masonry I finished it in 3150BC, but waited a few turns to build a Curragh and Worker before completing the Pyramids. I avoided Writing early, since I presumed someone else would go for it given we're all seafaring and started with Alphabet. Early research for me was always going to be slow with no rivers, as I assumed that some of you would have river starts. so I guess it paid off with some extra luck thrown in

never thought it would suck this much without rivers! and i regret not having taken the dutch. lots of friggin' desert around me... which isn't so bad if you're agricultural
