Odd isn't it? This for me has been all week long. The pings I get are in the 2000+ too. Normally it is 140+ish.

I have to take the little one to school, so i'll dig through the server for the last one that worked. I'll post it here.

XP is nat compliant, the old server was not. When I launched with 98 behind the router I had to make it so. When I launched from XP it simply connected no issues.

I assume it is nat compliant which is why 98 could not work and xp did. I am online now in 98 firewall on so join me.

Yeah..got me hooked right now with PBEM I mean I am playing 9 games about30 + turns an evening PLUS posting..

BUT..I am looking forward to soon dedicating a weekend to CTP!! (MP)

Over the Holidays (Labor-USA) I will play as my daughter,wife & Mother In Law all head north to Ohio...I will vegetate!!

Perhaps it is only egotism to think you were speaking to me but, if so, my apologies for not being around...had my parents in from Halifax.

I haven't played online before, only PBEM. How much more convenient it would be to get my a$$ kicked in a single evening!

Why do you say it sux?

It doesnt suck you need to limit the number in a game to 2-3 and yes it is hard to get together but I have wasted..I mean "INVESTED" many hours playing online...

I hate when some dumbass wants 6 people in an MP Game..

I prefer if 4 are there go SECONDS PER CITY for the timing..

like maybe 6 sec...

you get 6 seconds PLUS 6 seconds per city built..

you learn real quickly what the build quere is for

you dun have time to chit-chat tieying up the game

We have said it before many times, just you math we never have those problems. No idea what is wrong with your settings and or version?

Too true Grampa but if all are fast players, and just play you can finish one of those in a day. People just have to remember the trade and crash bugs. hey it's not a perfect game. Show me one that is?

If you just use the city tab for building que and make any new changes on your turn. NO problem. Remeber the Ai takes over when you drop out of the game, so trade is gone, so play it that way. Real simple right?

To get trade back after crash, remove the trade routes, remove all workers from trade goods wait one turn and bang you get trade back.

Also to miimize the damage, when someone leaves wait, not later now and do not click end... polite thing to do.
