The other teams can obviously do as they please.
If they want to back Monkey, they may, but obviously CoD and Python will remember it. And when the tables are turned, and there is war on the other continent, which will surely happen at some point, any team that helps Monkey now will find CoD and Python assisting their enemies.
The other teams can afford to leave us be, H_E. Have you SEEN their continent? They could each get as big as CoD & Python combined without firing a shot.

note: this was poor wording on my part, clarified later in the thread. I'm not going to edit it to sound better, but please do read my next couple of posts before going ballistic. Thank you.

We are simply trying to help Simians in need. Please do not give in to CoD pressure tactics. Please hear my appeal. I am sure you brave men on the other continent will not be scared off so easily. Please come to my aid. I am willing to meet privately with you to discuss our further liaisons. " |
Beta, this seems to be getting a bit out of hand. Everything before was at least a little bit funny, but this is more offensive than anything else.
Bend the truth, yes, but you just broke into a few thoasand little pieces.

We might, Arnelos, we might. It's not a pledge, though. I may have worded it too strongly. It's a reminder that in the future, the roles may be reversed.
This game is a little different that the PTWDGI, at least for us. GS has played the PTWDG to win, using cold logic at all times to further that goal. Hence our alliance with RP, despite much better relations with GoW.
While CoD would like to win, I don't think we will go that route. It didn't end up helping GS much, anyway! Our team will act with a little more humanity and a little less Machivellian logic.
We would agree to a non-interference pact with the civs on the other continent: you stay out of this war, and we will stay out of your affairs too, for a set number of turns (50, 100, whatever, we can discuss it) or some other limiting factor (one war, the discovery of a particular tech, whatever). CoD is open to creative deals along these lines.

I can't speak for Python, first of all.
Second, I'm no absolute ruler, so my own team might disagree with me if it came right down to it.
Third, as I said in my last post, the actions of other teams during this war will play a role in future decisions, but will not be the only factor.
I'd much rather reach some sort of deal over this, but if we don't, and a team assists Monkey, and CoD has a choice later on in the game: to back the team that hurt us, or their enemy... well, it might not override strategic concerns (your aforementioned superpower scenario), but if things are relatively equal, it could be the deciding factor.
