Ok, so this has got to be one of the most frustrating games I’ve ever played. I just lost two size 18 bases, one of them my HQ. I opened the move and found both base squares along with their 8 surrounding squares filled with ocean. Neither of these were coastal bases. Both groups of squares had average elevations of 500m with many well over 1000m. One base had a Pressure Dome but that didn’t seem to matter either. So, if this is due to global warming, there is something very wrong here. I went back and checked and none of these 18 squares were designated as endangered.
On the other hand, could this be due to a planet buster? Does the game announce it when a planet buster is used? If it was one, I thought a planet buster could only take out 1 square that this point. Also, I thought a planet buster still had very limited range at this point and would be unable to reach these bases. If I’m wrong, please let me know. So, was it a planet buster or global warming with a major glitch?

Oh, Ok, never mind. I see that a Fusion Planet Buster with a radius of 2 and a range of 16 will do all of the above. So, CEO Rubin, you've committed the ultimate atrocity. Lord Chip, will you continue to colaborate with such a vilian? I await your reply!

Since the 1940’s back on Earth, America remained the only nation to use Nuclear Weapons against fellow human beings until today. The Americans targeted relatively small and insignificant cities, and even though the yield of these weapons was relatively low, the resulting carnage shocked mankind into their further disuse.
Today 360,000 inhabitants of two of the most prominent and eco-friendly cities here on Chiron along with 18,000 square miles of eco-friendly forests have been obliterated. In a private communiqué, CEO Rubin has claimed credit for these atrocities.
In accordance with the existing UN Charter, and the very well known Gaian philosophy, the Peacekeepers call upon Lord Chip and all Gaians to renounce, once and for all, their Pact of Brotherhood with the Rubinites. All of Chiron must unite and declare vendetta on the Rubinites until such time that CEO Rubin has been removed to a punishment sphere.
Lord Chip, all of Chiron awaits your reply.

You would have received a more thoughtful reply if I'd looked at the board before playing my turn. For now, I'll just say "turn sent".

2234 to Rubin.
Although I have by far the largest population, I lack the political clout to call for my own election as Supreme Leader. The Peacekeepers get a 50% (or is it a 100%) voting bonus. The holder of the Empath Guild gets a 50% bonus. This makes Rubin #1 and NetWarrior #2, with me 7 votes back.

2235 to Rubin.
I have called the Council to propose myself as Supreme Leader. (I told you I was growing quickly.)
If we do not end the game now:
Net Warrior, be sure to leave me a couple of Pirate bases so that I can get my air force down to contain Miriam.

While I was getting the screen shots Rubin suggested, I tried the other alternative where the game asks if I wish to play on without earning more victory points. This time I say yes and then saved the game. I've sent 2236 to Chip. If it doesn't let you guys see the victory screens, I'll post those screen shots for you.
Here's one, just in case: http://apolyton.net/upload/view.php...ChipVictory.bmp

Gentlemen:
Speaking of anti-climactic, I received a diplomatic communication with Rubin and a dialog box announcing that I had been elected Supreme Leader. I was then given the chance to play the turn.
Thank you ... and on to Laptop 2.
