Con, I don't suggest Bongo would cheat. BUT, he has explicitly said (in the ICR-30% thread) that he takes advantage of this. It's not a way I prefer to play, is what i'm saying.
And I won't necessarily see your units -- you could attack with a half dozen horsemen, they'd slaughter any one unit that's producable now. (That's roughly bongo's strategy from my understanding of it.)
All I ask is that when you attack me (or anyone), you email me and/or post (depending on the agreement, i think in ICR it's better to email or PM) that you killed my X, and you used Y unit(s) to do so. I don't like the fact that this game is too stupid to tell me what happened during combat, and indeed prefer, in this aspect, something closer to the SP game.
I don't want to "make PBEM closer to SP" in general -- just that in SP you don't have this flaw, and in PBEM you do, so I want to eliminate the flaw, which pretty much everyone agrees is a flaw.
Turn sent btw.

I will probably be off the 24hour mark this weekend. My Grandmother fell last night and broke her femur. I will be on the road checking up on the situation but will have some access.

Physically things seem to be ok with the leg. Still some other questions in the air right now. We shall have to see.

Level 3 for me, but a minimum of level 2 is acceptable to me.
To MFC.
Edit: I forgot what level 1 was. I would prefer -- verge on requiring -- voluntary disclosure of combat. In other games i've had problems that I had a scout unit out that I forgot about, particularly in a game that had a slow-down. I play a lot of civ games (not as many as Paddy but more than a couple) and it's pretty much a given that, unless a game is moving really fast (which thankfully this one is, for now) i'm going to forget what's going on to some extent -- as will all of us. A simple note of "Hey, I killed your spearman", followed oftentimes with a "Take That!", is acceptable to me -- but I'd like the notice.
Con, I understand what you're saying about an accounting game, but what you did sign up for is a strategy game, and it's not possible to play a strategic game without knowing how the military battles turn out. Otherwise you're playing a builder with the random attack-from-afar. The only way I see it being ok to play, particularly a TOURNAMENT game, without reports is if the FoW is turned off.
Now THAT would be a fun game ...

I am back now. Sorry for the delays. I should have been able to get more turns out while I was out dealing with my family issues, but the phones had not all been turned on in the new house. I have a little bit of a rat’s nest to deal with at work today but should have my turns caught up overnight.
