Two Scientific Golden Ages? Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I have a big lead in my current game, so when I got an SGL sometime during Industrial I decided to launch a Scientific Golden Age instead of rushing a wonder just to see what it was like. Anyway, later in the game I got another SGL, and he also had the option to launch a Scientific Golden Age, even though I had already done one. I clicked on it thinking it might tell me "not allowed", but it allowed it. Is that a bug, or are multiple SGA's supposed to be allowed?

I have never heard that there is a limit on scientific ages. I'm not sure what would happen if you tried to start one while you were still in one, though...

Suffering from ads?

Multiple Scientific Golden Ages are allowed. I've had 3-4 in one game before (Scientific-Builder-Midlevel difficulty-Huge). I however have never been afforded an SGL 'During' the Golden Age. It was usually the 2nd or 3rd tech afer the age ended when my next one appeared.
Anyone had an SGL show up during a SGA?

What am I doing wrong ?

I've only gotten two SGLs total in all my games.

I'm always the first one done with the Ancient times; and by the time the AIs are entering the middle ages, I've got only 6 or 8 techs left before I go Industrial.

I always bee-line for republic and after that I always have a tech lead ... usually a very substantial one.

And I have NEVER had more than 1 SGL in a game, and only 2 total in all my games together. I'm even playing a Scientific civ ...

How can I get sooooo unlucky?

Got spare money?

You're unlucky?

The chance for a SGL is so small, even for scientific civs, that you can never count on getting one. You might be one of the lucky ones with 2 or 3 in a lot of games, but you could also be one of the ones who has yet to see one in a game. It's quite variable.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Well, I made a stupid thing... Started a scientific age, and, some turns later, I started a revolution, because the WW was killing me and my enemy just accepted to not surrender until the bitter end.

Just so you know, the scientific golden age feature seems to be broken in C3C, its better to just to keep it for the next wonder.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

What makes you say that? I haven't analyzed any exact numbers, but I have noticed the turns remaining on my next research go down when I start a SGA. So it's doing something.

Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

The initial display indicates a reduction in the # of turns but if you keep count it still takes just as long. You will find several consecutive turns where the turns remaining doesn't change.

I've had terrible experiences with the turn for my Scientific Advances staying the same.
