I'm still just following established precedent here, people.
1. If Trip names a Deputy Consul for the remainder of his term, there is no election until the term expires in early June. We will have an election then.
2. If Trip QUITS without naming a Deputy Consul, then we need to hold an election now. The person so elected would hold office until Trip's term runs out... which happens to be 1 week later.
Again, if you'd like to change the rules, we have an ammendment procedure. I'm not going to get into the business of changing them on my own account when the Senate is perfectly capable of changing them with ammendments if they truly desire to do so.
In the meantime, I will follow existing written rules and precedents.
