Here, to quell any fears that people who are against giving PAL writting have, I hearby agree with Consul Togas that we will not give PAL writting until after the chat with them or this issue is resolved internally.

There, thats two of three Consuls saying not to give it (at this point ).

Fine Don talk to them first, but if you aren't getting good vibes on a delay, then give it to them.

Again, messing with this kind of stuff now and trying to get cute, is going to cost us a lot more in terms of our aliance relationship with PAL, then it will cost us IF CDG figures something out. Which I seriously doubt they will.

And if anything should have been questioned by CDG it should have been Warrior Code, now thats a tech PAL can use, and a tech we got from CDG and traded to PAL.

And as far as I know, CDG has not said a word about that.

I think we maybe trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill here, and I think thats the way PAL is veiwing it.

If this is put to a vote, then my vote is given them writing now and don't worry about if they take or if CDG notices.

If CDG does notice we have three options:
1) Admit trading it to them.
2) Ask before they notice if they traded it to them, implying we didn't give it to them and we think they did.
3) Deny it once and only once they notice. Suggest they may of researched it or gotten it from a hut.


EDIT: Oh and this goes for all future techs as well, we agreed to share with them as part of the alliance. Backing out of that is worse than it would be to backstab CDG right now before the republic deal is completed.

If this really is a make-or-break thing for PAL, fine. Though I would hope it would not be.

More easily explained by huts. Remember, PAL says they got BW from a hut only a few turns in to the game. If they haven't told CDG that yet, they can just switch it from BW to WC, and we can say we traded PAL BW.

Writing is just too expensive to be explained away.

Perhaps... I agree we are making a mountain out of a mole hill, but in a different sense. I don't quite get why PAL wants it now when the worst result is making CDG suspicious and the best result is null.

Frankly, PAL doesn't want it now. They haven't asked for it at all. Ironicly, it's us that are arguing amongst ourselves on if we want to gift it or not.

Did I miss something here? This is a quote from F-P in the last chat I had with him before I hopped on the plane:

I dont think its the fact that we want to withhold writing, its just that asking them to do so was unexpected. Especially since we agreed as part of the alliance to share all techs.

Just remember there perspective. How they usually play CIV. They are just not used to pndering every possible angle of every possible turn. It just doesn't happen in MP.

And again, Im firmly for trying to explain it again. BUT its still more important IMHO, to give them the tech if they dont buy or agree with our arguement.

My job is to understand PAL and provide you (The Team) with my best possible "Read" of there team. Thats what Im trying to do. If we want to as a group do something else, so be it.

Just don't assume they are going to play the game like we do, I dont think that will happen. We just need to meet somewhere in the middle.
