We have a Settler on the Caravel just North of Malaca, the city founded last turn. This guy can carry on with the Caravel until a suitable spot is found by the Consul to plant the flag upon, or he can offload at Malaca to start roading and otherwise improving the terrain. What'll it be?

In 5 turns we get a new Settler in Apolytonia. Since I am Minister of All Things But Science (for I am too inept to be in charge of such things ), he shall be named Justinian. Justinian can go to the New World to start improving terrain around Utica or found a new city of his own (perhaps SE of Utica).

Three day poll.

I think it would be best to establish a new city quickly, and we are nearer unknown land near Malaca than Utica. Also, I'd rather not have a new city any closer to Killdeer than Utica is until we know how far the Egyptians have settled. Third, since "Killdeer" is a Sioux name, I'm worried about where THEY are.

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

Sure - as we can't actually see very much land ATM, I thought that the actual position for any new cities should be up to you anyway. Kinda hard to poll on city placements when you can't see anything but black. I could try though.

Which of these two sites should we settle on as a priority?

Green or red. Three day poll.

* Sparrowhawk approves of the suggested city sites

I voted in favour of founding a new city (and emptying the boat so it can return home for another load).

* MrWhereItsAt wonders if the miraculous knowledge-powers of the Science Minister mean he has foresight.... or whether he is just consulting the soothsayers and crackpots fortune tellers of the bazaars set up in Utica without telling anyone

Well said, cavebear!! All very good points.

The biggest need is for more cities. Settlers are too valuable to use as explorers, especially at this late date...IMHO.

Oh well, looks like everyone wants cities quickly. So that's so far what my recommendation is looking like for both Settlers.

24 hour warning on poll closure.
